Chicago Tax Day Tea Party

Posted On 12:10 AM by Steve Stevlic |

To those of you who couldn't join us, here are highlights of the Chicago Tea Party at the Federal Plaza, right outside the offices of Dick Durbin, Roland Burris and the IRS. Republicans, Democrats and Independents came together on Tax Day to protest high taxes, out of control spending, government takeovers and bailouts.

Matt Bessemer and Chante Brown - you are patriots. I'm proud to be your neighbor

The income tax in IL is being raised by 50%. The sales tax here in Cook County is already 11.25%. The politicians in this state make the Somali pirates look reasonable.

For every person that stood out there on April 15th against the tyranny of our own government, there were 20 more people who support the same sentiment but couldn't make it because they had to go to school(I had a dynamics test) or work(I had work right after school). I hope they do another TEA PARTY on a holiday or weekend and I'll be there!!!!!

Where were the tea party's during the Bush Administration? Bush ran the biggest gov't in American History. Now all of a sudden we are anti-spending? I was actually called a liberal when I complained about Bush's out of control spending. I don't even know what a liberal, or a conservative is anymore.
