Earth Hour too inconvenient for Al Gore

The fact that the limousine riding, personal jet flying, former Vice President Al Gore is a hypocrite on the environment should come as news to no one. What is news is that Al Gore can not even be bothered to participate in the symbolic event of Earth Hour.

Drew Johnson from the Tennessee Center For Policy Research reports that the lights inside Gore's 9,000 square foot TN mansion were on during Earth Hour. The lights that Al Gore kept on include:
  • Television screens
  • Computer monitors
  • Floodlights to illuminate his driveway and trees on his grounds

Gore's mansion uses approximately 221,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year - more than 20 times the national average.

If Al Gore can't even be bothered to make a token, symbolic gesture for one hour of his life, why should you? The larger question is this, if Al Gore is not taking global warming seriously, how serious could it be?
