Obama Still Owes City $1.7 million for Election Night Party

Barack Obama still owes the City of Chicago $1.74 million for his November 4, 2008 election night party in Grant Park. At the time, Chicago taxpayers (of which I am one) were told that the Obama campaign would pay for the bash - it wasn't going to cost the taxpayers anything. Being a lifelong Chicago area resident, I have learned that whenever I am told that something is not going to cost taxpayers anything I grab my wallet.

In October 2008, Hizzoner, Mayor Daley said, "The City of Chicago could not afford $2 million on this because we're gonna be laying off people, cutting back. That [cost] would really be unfortunate. . . . It's a huge cost to the City of Chicago."

President Obama's plan for the housing crisis is to have the 92% of mortgage holders who are paying their mortgage on time pay for the 8% that are not paying. Perhaps the Democrat politicians who are paying their campaign debts can pay for The Messiah's.
